Futur Portfolio Adviser: COP29: Leaders Urged to Accelerate Climate Finance as Summit Nears Conclusion
As COP29 nears its conclusion, leaders are urged to speed up climate finance decisions. While the presidency is hopeful for progress, diverging views suggest limited momentum for consensus.
Methane and Agriculture
On November 19, over 30 countries signed the Reducing Methane from Organic Waste Declaration, committing to set methane reduction targets in future Nationally Determined Contributions. The Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers was also launched, bringing together existing agricultural climate efforts to identify gaps and empower rural communities.
Matthieu Maurin, CEO of Iceberg Data Lab, praised the initiative, stressing the need for traceability in supply chains to address deforestation and highlight the benefits of regenerative agriculture—issues central to Iceberg’s work with financial institutions.
